Ms. Shiori Nakamura received the Society Award at the 165th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Veterinary Medicine

Ms. Shiori Nakamura, a sixth-year student of the Department of Wildlife Science, received
an academic award at the 165th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Veterinary
Science for her presentation titled “An attempt to estimate the age of a brown bear
using the methylation rate of blood DNA”.
We got a comment from Ms. Nakamura.
Ms. Nakamura: I gave a presentation titled “An attempt to estimate the age of a brown
bear using the methylation rate of blood DNA”. I am very happy to receive this
prestigious award. Encouraged by this, I will do my best to write a thesis so that the
research content can be used for the conservation and management of bears.”
